2023: Our Year In Review

This year, we continued our investment in recruiting the right team members, which enhances our ability to provide superior service to our customers. We also placed a big emphasis on upskilling through targeted training sessions and certifications to further elevate our team's expertise. Some of these certifications include: Zoho Creator, Zoho Desk and Yeastar P-Series Cloud PBX.  Our Business Sales Specialists also attended a Liquid Intelligent Technologies training session where they learnt more about the latest cybersecurity threats. 

DSL Telecom's Head of Sales, Gerhard Dempers and Head of Operations, Tremayne Burns were invited to attend Telkom's dealer conference that took place at The Sun City Resort in early July. The 2 day conference was packed with engaging discussions, workshops, guest speaker sessions, including South African entrepreneur, Vusi Thembekwayo, and social events. Gerhard and Tremayne enjoyed the opportunity to network with the Telkom team and other Telkom partners from all over South Africa. 

Our Managing Director, Dean Schreuder, and Technical Director, Paul Wilson, were invited to visit Zoho's Headquarters in Chennai where they attended the Zoho MEA conference. During their visit, Dean and Paul got the opportunity to connect and build relationships with Zoho's key team members. They also attended a Q&A session with Zoho's CEO, Sridhar Vembu, held at Zoho's Chennai campus grounds.

DSL Telecom represented Zoho at this year's Zoholics events in all three cities: Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. It was our chance to engage with the Zoho MEA team and also to have meaningful face-to-face discussions with our customers about their Zoho journeys. Zoholics never fails to inspire our team members which is why we always aim to have as many of our team as possible attending the events. Zoholics 2023 wasn’t just a conference, it was a testament to Zoho’s commitment to innovation, user experience, and global growth.

This year, we kicked off a series of fun gatherings, beginning with a lively Irish-themed spit braai generously sponsored by our partner, Vox. We dressed in green, savoured the delicious food, and enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with our teammates. 

Our mid-year function was a blast from the past as we time-traveled to the vibrant 80s, complete with an epic lawn bowls tournament. It was a day of nostalgia, fun, and fierce competition that brought out the best in everyone!

The grand finale of the year was nothing short of extraordinary at our annual year-end function, where we added an intergalactic twist with an Area 51 theme. We awarded our top performers and got the opportunity to celebrate all that we have achieved as a team.
